Money in the Affiliate Marketing Industry

I am pretty sure you have heard of "affiliate marketing" before, but if you have not, it is basically where you get paid upon delivering a certain action. I won't go into that into too much detail, so I don't bore most of you, but if you really don't get it, search for the term online.

There are a lot of affiliate marketers in the space today, regardless of if they make $0.05/year or 7 figures, they are all the same. It is just how one decides to present affiliate offers.

I'm going to tell you about a specific example of how a business was created from affiliate marketing and sold for about $48 million.

I can't go into detail about the specific company because I told you the amount that it was roughly sold for, but I will tell you everything that the business was about. It was basically a website promoting affiliate links in the travel industry. If you are the least bit involved in affiliate marketing, you will know that hotels.com has affiliate offers as well as other travel sites. This affiliate site was created from hotels.com and expedia.com affiliate offers. For quite a long span of time it was the number one performing "affiliate" for expedia.com.

To be a number one affiliate for any program, it takes A LOT of sales. In order to make sales, you have to be putting the right amount of money in advertising and even have repeat customers to your site. But it is all easier said than done, quite frankly.

I won't discuss how much the company was cranking in on a daily basis, but I'm sure that you can figure out some estimates by looking at the sale price of the company.

Everyone wants to learn the affiliate business, but it is hard to learn from a lot of resources on the web, since they are mostly restating same concepts and there is a lot of risk when you want to try out a new business with your own money involved.

Make Money With An Online Business:
Online businesses are at a rapid growth today than it was 6 months, 1 year, or ever before. People are heavy on online business because it opens the door to your products for more people than just your local community.

First off, you will need a website, not any cheap old website with basic HTML. You should at least have some moderate skilled programming done with your website, nothing fancy, but nothing basic. You want to do this because it is appealing to your customers. People need to see that you are not just another average business with an average product.

Next you will need to market your website, a good way to kick start an online business is by offering promotions, affiliate marketing, or advertising on online ad networks. This will create a drive to your website and arise potential customers. Promotions can be held such as giveaways or contests so it attracts people to visit your website and check out what products you have, generating a genuine interest. Affiliate marketing is definitely big these days, with millions of bloggers/webmasters, it is easy to start marketing your product on others' websites because CPA (Cost-Per-Action) marketing doesn't require the merchant to pay for advertising until an actual product is sold. This leads to free publicity until revenue is generated, then a portion of the sale (decided prior to CPA advertising) is given to the webmaster. Advertising on online ad networks is also amazing to market business, especially if you are selling high priced items. This might be a cheaper online advertising route for you because you are not giving a dollar amount upon the sale, instead giving a certain amount upon CPC (Cost-Per-Click), when the person clicks on your link.

The internet can basically make your business and international e-business, so you could possibly end up more profitable, making money online.

eBay is also a great tool for indirectly marketing your website because you can use eBay to create a brand image for yourself and once the "image" is created, people will market your website. Until your website becomes popular you can sell your items through eBay.

Make Money By BEING An Affiliate Marketer:
This a very good approach to bring in big dollar amounts through advertising. You can basically make money off of nothing that you are selling directly. This just requires you to get set up with some affiliate marketing programs or websites that will give you a code to paste on your website as a webmaster and enjoy the revenues that come in upon CPA.

So to make money online you don't necessarily have to have a product, but you will need to have some sort of website if you want to monetize that way.

As always traffic to your website is the key to success!! (Making money online is by no means a get rich quick scheme.)
