Doing business these days means more than having just a wonderful product. It means that you have to spark people's interest and curiosity when you are promoting your product or service and also from day to day operations. Most businesses build their business drawing in new customers constantly, but also build on repeat sales from repeat customers. The new customers have to be definitely interested in trying out a product, but you have to get the regular customers curious in your operations constantly or they will forget about you or even check out, if not move on to the competition.
How to keep up the curiosity:
- Be unpredictable- If you market your product differently each time you contact a potential customer, they won't be bored with your campaigns. Think about each time you are presented a product, but you already know what's being promoted in the first two seconds of the ad. If you mix up your promoting style more often than not, people are bound to see through to your products multiple times, without expecting it.
- Ignite the flame- When you are promoting your product to your audience, start a story and don't end it. It is probably one of the constant strategies businesses use to increase interest to their business. If you don't present all the information to people, but your intro seems worthy enough, people will check it out!
- Draw attention to your business through something- People have favorites, people have brands that they follow and people have attention drawers. It is all about representing things that people are interested in. If you are running a business for sporting equipment, for example, and you get an NBA star to endorse your product, you can count on people checking it out, if they are obsessed with that star. It doesn't even have to be a person, but it can even be a product that people are interested in. If you make a connection with a product or service that already has a massive hype over itself, linking it to your business, people are more likely to check out your offerings. *Be careful before associating with different people or brands for legality issues. Check with your attorneys.
- Bring in the limits- Everyone has seen "only available for a limited time" or "only 100 available," but why do businesses do this? It is to engage people and have them WANT to check out what they are selling. If you hear about something that is extremely exclusive, you will most probably check it out than not. I know I always check out things that are available on a limited basis, even if I don't purchase them.
- Set a trend- It might be more easier to do if you are a celebrity, but you can do it as a business owner. Setting a style or trend that people start to follow will spark flames over your business because people will be interested in "how you work."
You will realize, if you are constantly changing the way you "sell" people will be more engaged in your business and there will more likely be increased popularity with your business overall compared to your competition.
